Working with motor vehicles can be a very specialised area of employment and a good knowledge and passion for the industry can be a big help. IT
Many vehicles are becoming more reliant on computer technology and IT skills are essential for many jobs in the current climate andbecoming more so every year. You will be required to use a computer of some kind, and it some cases, required to work with data in spreadsheets, databases and bespoke systems.
Time management & organisation
As with many careers, time management and organisation skill are important, especially so in motor vehicle careers. Good organisation skills will empower your work to be more efficient, with less unnecessary downtime.
Attention to detail
Attention to detail in an automotive career is crucial. You will be able to notice errors faster, diagnose and evaluate mechanical faults and find areas for improvement and repair.
